Sir, I am sorry you feel this way about our club. Our club does promote safety on the roads. We have had the discussions and will continue to do so. You wouldn't know this because you do not ride with our group or come to our club meetings. Some people I am sure have made some judgement mistakes when riding and I am positive we could do things better. Its important to the club for its riders to be safe and courteous without giving up our rights to the road. However if you ride a bike, and I am assuming you do, then you have pissed someone off. I have had objects thrown at me while riding on a road with a wide shoulder. I was not in or slowing traffic, cutting across traffic, running a stop sign or light. However, my mere presence caused someone to want to do harm to me. I think you shouldn't judge people based on what you read on an open forum. My point is many times comments made on this forum are of a joking nature and sometimes perceived to be otherwise. There are some good people in this club and I am proud of some of the things we have done for the community. We do promote riders riding with helmets. If not we wouldn't of had 600 helmets manufactured specifically for the club to be distributed among the Tyler Police Dept bike rodeo for kids and the Salvation Army to give away to kids who received bicycles last year at Christmas.
