To "some" of the cyclists around Whitehouse, I hope you know who you are.
Why do you guys feel the need to cut off traffic? Every single person that I know in that area has commented to me at one time or another about the stupid cyclists brazenly riding into traffic on 110.
As a cyclists who tries to obey all traffic laws, I have issues with cyclists who just don't care. It gives the rest of us a bad rep. It pisses motorists off, and every cyclist they see after that ends up being seen in a negative way.
A coworker came in to the office yesterday and told me about the last incident he saw where an entire line of cars had to come to a screeching halt due to 15-20 cyclists suddenly darting accross the road.
If motorists have to slow down or stop when you decide to cross the road, you are in the wrong. You have endangered yourself and your fellow cyclists.
We all get mad at motorists that don't share the road, who honk or edge as close as possible, but when we ride like this, we're no better.
If your route starts from, or crosses a place that doesn't ever seem to permit you to safely cross the road, find another place to start your ride or alter your route.
